Some about the Model Air Club of Thun - Switzerland:
Switzerland is a very small alpine country in the heart of Europe. Thun is a Town of about 40 000 Inhabitants and is situated on the low end of the Lake of Thun. We are directly at the rim of the alps and therfore Thun is also named the Door to the Alps. We - the Model Air Club of Thun are a club of about one hundred members and our Flying Field is on an Army Training Center giving us only restricted acess during weekdays.

IPC Autumn 2015 Report:

Hello to everyone

8 pilots got out on our flying field at around ten o clock this last August Sunday 30 morning to fly for the Autumn IPC.
We had an absolute perfect late summer day for flying with rather high temperatures and very low humidity air wich gave more and more tricky thermal activity as the day progressed.
As usual we started the flying with the group picture – as usual we pose before one of the main Mountain in the Thun Region - the STOCKHORN (Pyramide in the Center of the Photo)
The models flown where mostly F3J Design and some light wind thermal crafts. But the flown models are not realy of great importance for a good score - all will do 6 minutes with ease when flown by an good Thermaleer!
At the beginning we had good thermal activity and therefore not to much problems to obtain the six minutes.
After a wind direction change we turned over the wich array opposite after two rounds.
At about midday winds freshed up a little bit and the attainable flight times were more and more shorter as Lift became more and more turbulent and dissipated rather quickly.
Sometimes it seemed that some sinkholes where have been produced especially for us!!
Therefore we tried to finish the 5 rounds of the contest as quick as possible and managed to finish short after midday.
Finally a not so bad overall top 5 result could be added up on the scoresheet.
With a fine barbeque until late afternoon we finished a perfect summer days flying.

We do again hope that this autumn 2015 IPC more than only 3 clubs will have been
participated on this IPC round.
